Statement of aims

I'll use media language in my production portrayed connotations of home actors will be feeling, it will also be able to give a small entail of what might happen within the movie as there will be images placed on the cover which will be chosen carefully as in the film poster you'll not want to give too much away to consumers as you will want them to still come and see your movie to find out what happens. The mise-en-scene I use will be thought through carefully, the types of shots used, the editing used, the costume and makeup, the setting and props and the lighting. For example, some of the main outfits I'll be using Will be worn dirty clothes the connotations of using these what emphasise on the situation which my characters are in, it will show lack of civilisation and that's nothing has been left behind after the war in the post-apocalyptic world where everything has been destroyed. Life on Mars - post modernism

Some of the main ideas of post modernism are that in media-saturated World post-modernists claim we are constantly immersed in media 24/7, on the move at work at home, the distinction and between reality and the media representation of it becomes blurred or even entirely invisible to us, we no longer have any sense of the difference between real things and images of them. Also, the end ...

Historical Task: Find examples from your historical magazine (Woman’s Realm) that support (or challenge) the view that variety, creativity and quality are limited. Examples from  this  text:  - This magazine cover is similar to magazines produces today and this shows that the older versions are still good, there has not been much change in the magazine industry either, and this may be a reason why it is going into decline.  -  Another example from the cover of Women’s Realm that supports the idea that variety, creativity and quality are limited by the narrow range of magazine distributors during the time period, can be found in the cover lines of the edition. In the cover lines, there is only headings which give the readers an insight as to what is going to be inside the magazine.  Creativity  isn't really shown here but it is simple and it may stand out form the crowd.  - On the contents page, there is a fiction section and this is w...

Ferguson's ideas

Image
Women’s magazines constantly reiterate the need to ‘Be more beautiful’, providing readers with what they should aspire to look like, before providing them with the tools to achieve a desired ‘look’.  ‘getting and keeping a man’ is commonly seen as a primary goal in women’s magazines. Making oneself more attractive is therefore seen as a woman’s ‘duty’. How are Ferguson's ideas about the representation of women in women's magazines evident in this text? The Ferguson theory states that woman always have to be better looking more beautiful by using the tools that the media directly provide them with. An example of this theory being shown is the Sunsational Saltana advert. it portrays a good looking woman on a surfboard, holding a platter, smiling with perfectly tied up hair. she being beautiful whilst surfing and holding a this which shows she is skilful and is trying to show off her skills because she may be trying to 'get and keep a man'. these are the t...

1. Young Kurdish women are represented in a way that opposes the stereotypes of Women that make women out to be housewives and mothers only. For example Van Zoonen's theory states that the underlying frame of women in that they belong to a family and domesticated life, these representations are spoken a lot of with many magazines, however this magazine opposes this in several ways, this is because it gives us examples of many young women joining the fight against ISIS, it also states that they do make a difference by winning their fights which shows us that women can also make a difference and that they shouldn't be forced to live a domesticated life as they should be able to choose the life that they want. The fighters are also fighting for equal rights for women all across the world by showing everyone that they can do whatever men can do. It also opposes the ideologies that only men belong to work and politics as it clearly shows us that women are eager to join the fight a...
